Chellaston Cheetahs U14s 0–3 Borrowash Vic’s Rams
What a day for the Rams! We hit the road to Alvaston Park for a big cup clash against a strong, well-organised Chellaston side — a team that had already pushed us hard in the league. We knew from the first whistle that the lads had to be switched on, sharp, and ready to battle… and wow, did they deliver!
Right from kickoff, we took control. Wave after wave of attacks came crashing toward the Chellaston goal. Their defence stood firm early on, throwing bodies in the way and limiting us to half chances, even scrambling clear a couple of chaotic goalmouth moments. We racked up corners and kept the pressure relentless, but still they held out. And while we were dominating, Chellaston threatened on the counter — yet our back line was rock solid. Lewis, in particular, was an absolute wall, calmly shutting down everything that came his way.
Then came the breakthrough! In the 30th minute, super-sub Ronnie danced through the box with some brilliant footwork and slipped a perfect ball into Charlie, who kept his cool and slotted it past the keeper. 0–1 Rams!
Just four minutes later, we struck again with the move of the match. Fast, fluid, one-touch football through the midfield sliced Chellaston apart. A gorgeous pass from Theo found Oli right in stride, and he drilled it home with pinpoint accuracy. 0–2 and flying!
The second half picked up exactly where we left off — total control. The midfield dictated everything, with Ronnie thriving in the CAM role, linking beautifully with Finn on the left, George on the right, and Theo leading the line. We carved out chances, forced saves, and kept the tempo high. At the back, the entire defensive unit was immense, giving Harry a quiet afternoon thanks to their discipline and focus.
And then came number three! In the 47th minute, Theo powered down the right and whipped in a brilliant cross for Ronnie, who smashed it off the post and in. 0–3 and cruising!
We kept pushing and nearly grabbed a fourth at the death. Theo was chopped down near the byline, Finn delivered a delicious free kick onto Jake’s head… and from one inch out he somehow nodded it wide — one for the blooper reel!
All in all, a superb, professional performance from the lads as we book our place in the quarter-finals! Opponents still to be confirmed — but we’re ready for anyone.
Man of the Match: Lewis Weavers — outstanding at the back!
